FIFA Club World Cup Final 2011: Irmatov (UZB)

Ravshan Irmatov (UZB) emerged on the international scene in 2010, when he impressed everyone through his excellent performances at the FIFA World Cup in South Africa. Although it was his first World Cup, after the opening match he became a very serious candidate for the final, but ended-up being appointed for a quarter-final and the semi-final Netherlands – Uruguay. On Sunday, he will be refereeing his second FIFA Club World Cup final, Barcelona – Santos, after he did Manchester United – LDU Quito in 2008. “I am very happy and it is a great honour to be appointed for the final match of the FIFA Club World Cup Japan 2011. It is every referee's dream to officiate the final of any FIFA competition and I look forward to performing to the best of my ability. I also thank FIFA for their trust and confidence in appointing me to officiate such an important match", said Irmatov. He was voted the best Asian referee four times in a row (2008, 2009, 2010, 2011) and refereed the AFC Asian Cup final Australia – Japan in 2011, as well as the AFC Champions League final Urawa - Sepahan in 2007. He also participated in one FIFA U-20 World Cup (2007) and three FIFA U-20 World Cups (2003, 2007, 2009).
